See how you go.you may not hear from me as it is very late over here in OZ and I'm off to bed. *while using this encoder remember to setup you aspect ratio in the 'filters/preview' tab after importing your source video.as by default this setting may not be correct, and if you decide to encode to motion jpeg avi turn the quality setting to 100 in the video tab, to find the motion jpeg setting you must select 'custom' then 'format', and when you view the resulting avi encode it may look like you are seeing de-interlacing lines this is a false reading its your avi render decoder that is not setup properly, ignore this and import it into tmpg and you will see that all is good, there are options in xmedia recode for field settings just test them and see what works, (that is if you decide to all do this)*

I have used it for short encodes to AVI (motion JPEG AVI).I have not tried MPEG2, but if the mpeg2 quality is no good encode it to Motion Jpeg AVI, then you can import it into tmpg for mpeg2.the motion jpeg avi quality this encoder (Xmedia Recode) produces is amazing! it is broadcast quality.infact I work in broadcast TV and used this encoder to convert H.264 tv commercials to Motion jpeg avi the quality is superb! Shame it's not working.yes procoder is really good but pricey.I found Sorrenson okay but encoding quality not so y this little Free encoder called Xmedia Recode I found this encoder opens ANY video format. Adobe Media Encoder 2022 v22.1.1.25 (圆4) Multilingual 765 Mb Ingest, transcode, create proxies, and output any format you can imagine.
